Shirnett Fleet is the dynamic head of global marketing for Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, the world’s most luxurious river cruise line. A veteran marketer with nearly two decades’ experience in brand development, demand generation and customer acquisition, Fleet was tapped to join Uniworld in 2016. Since then, she has worked alongside Uniworld president and CEO Ellen Bettridge to completely reimagine the brand’s marketing strategy, the way new ships come to market and in the process, achieving unprecedented occupancies for the brand. In 2017, she spearheaded the introduction of U by Uniworld, the first, adult-only river cruise line aimed at a new generation of travelers.
A fierce marketer who believes that not taking any risks is the biggest risk. Fleet’s experience spans hospitality and consumer goods, from technology to chips. Prior to joining Uniworld, Fleet washead of channel marketing for Samsung’s line of SmartThings, IOT technology that wirelessly connects a wide range of smart devices and makes them work together. Before that, Fleet served as director of marketing for FiLIP Technologies, leading consumer marketing for the FiLIP wearable phone for kids.
Fleet began her career in the travel and hospitality space managing advertising and creative services at Universal Studios Hollywood; and then onto managing advertising and partner marketing at Crystal Cruises, before becoming senior director, marketing for the Virgin Group’s private jet booking engine –Virgin Charter.
A proud San Diego State University grad and native Californian, Fleet continues to make Southern California her home where she and her husband have two children and most recently, a new pug named Henry.
